Matt Morgan

VP, EMEA Commercial Operations

I’m a great believer in continuous improvement and stepping outside of comfort zones, no matter how uncomfortable. I keep a coffee coaster on my desk with the quote ‘ships in harbor are safe, but that’s not what they are designed for’ which serves as a daily reminder to try something new.

As Vice President, EMEA Commercial Operations, Matt is focused on the power of winning together through collaboration. EMEA is a diverse and culturally varied area of Verathon’s business and he has a core belief in putting people at the heart of everything we do whilst ensuring everyone really understands and exemplifies our values. It’s our values, modelled by great people, in addition to world class products, which is the recipe for Verathon’s success. Matt oversees the Commercial Team, which includes Country Manager Leadership in our four direct markets in Europe, Distributor Sales Management, Insides Sales and Customer Care.

Matt joined Verathon in January 2021, bringing 17 years of medical device sales, marketing and senior leadership experience with companies such as Stryker, Smith & Nephew, Tornier and Wright Medical. He was Sales Director for Smith & Nephew’s Sports Medicine business in the UK, followed by roles as Managing Director/General Manager for Tornier and Wright Medical. Prior to his career in medical devices, Matt spent five years in R&D within the automotive industry, working for Jaguar in the UK and Pininfarina in Italy. He holds a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Engineering and is based in the United Kingdom.

What do you enjoy the most about being part of the Verathon team?

My role at Verathon means that I interact with a diverse group of people, across many business functions, countries and cultures. Because of this, I find that I learn and grow every day and that no day is ever remotely the same. It’s a continually fascinating learning process and one that exposes me to truly remarkable, inspirational colleagues and customers.

What are you most excited about for Verathon’s future?

I am excited about the potential for expansion and people growth in the team. Bringing new and talented people into the organization, as well as watching and helping those already here develop in their careers. We continue to build a great place to work, and I am looking forward to the many opportunities that are ahead of us.

How would you describe the perfect weekend?

Living on the South Coast of the UK, the perfect weekend is time spent outdoors with friends and family, playing tennis, walking and SUP surfing. During the winter I try to head further afield to the Alps to enjoy my long-term passion, snowboarding.
