FAQs

How is the SamplePro packaged?

The BFlex 2 SamplePro device is packaged separately from the BFlex 2 Single-Use Bronchoscopes. Each box of SamplePro includes 5 SamplePro pouches. Each SamplePro pouch includes one (1) bridge and two (2) 50 mL containers.

Which sizes of BFlex 2 are compatible with SamplePro?

BFlex 2 sizes 3.8, 5.0, and 5.8 are compatible with the SamplePro. For optimal experience, it is recommended to use SamplePro with the two largest sizes of BFlex 2.

What size syringes are compatible with SamplePro?

Syringes up to 60 mL are compatible with the SamplePro device in accordance with standardized BAL guidelines for fluid administration.

What size suction tubing should be used with the SamplePro bridge?

Like BFlex 2, standard suction tubing ranging from 6.0 to 7.0 mm is compatible with the SamplePro bridge.

What is the shelf life of SamplePro?

One (1) year from date of manufacture.

Does it matter which way I insert the container into the bridge?

The container can be inserted into the bridge in either orientation, with the cap pointing to the left or to the right of the user.

Will my specimen get stuck in the container tubes?

No, anything that passes through the BFlex 2 working channel can enter the container. If there are particularly thick mucus strings, a syringe can be inserted into either port on the container lid to push the clog out with air or saline, if needed. The laboratory can also use this technique to dilute the sample, if needed. Container channel: 4.0mm > Largest BFlex 2 Working Channel: 3.0mm

Do I need to take any steps to secure my specimen?

Automatic valves seal the specimen securely inside the container when removed from the bridge. The cap is provided as an added peace of mind. No secondary operations are required to secure the specimen.

Can I add additional specimen to a container that already has collected specimen?

Yes, add the container back on to the bridge and continue collecting specimen.

Can I reuse the bridge or save extra containers?

No, all components of the SamplePro device are single-use and should be discarded after the procedure.
