Verathon®
(formerly Diagnostic Ultrasound Corporation) designs,
manufactures and distributes reliable, state-of-the-art
medical devices and services that offer a meaningful
improvement in patient care to the health care community.
Gerald
McMorrow, electrical engineer and Vietnam veteran, founded
the company in 1984 and has led the company throughout
its transformation from a small start up to a profitable
international corporation. |

The
company's flagship brand, BladderScan® bladder
volume measurement instruments, is used in Urology, Acute
Care, Primary Care, and Extended Care and is considered a
standard of care. Noninvasive and easy to use, the BladderScan®
prevents unnecessary urinary catheterizations, reduces rates
of urinary tract infection, and helps diagnose urinary-related
problems such as enlarged prostate (BPH).
Verathon® recently expanded its product portfolio with the acquisition
of Saturn Biomedical Systems and the GlideScope®
Video Laryngoscope (GVL®) brand in January
2006. GlideScope® provides a consistently clear
view of the airway, enabling quick intubation, and offers
significant benefits to Anesthesiology, Surgery, and Emergency
Medicine markets. The
company’s innovative GlideScope® product
line was introduced in 2001.
Verathon® was ranked among the fastest growing technology companies
in Washington State in Deloitte’s prestigious “Technology
Fast 50” program in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Headquartered in Bothell, Washington, the company has over 400 employees worldwide.
